My Gambia had the honour to attend the 4th edition of the Gunjur International Bird Fair & Ecotourism Conference that was taking place in Dalaba Eco Lodge, Gunjur, from February 25th to February 26th.

It was great to see all the members of Gunjurian NGOs again, determined to change the people's mindset and work together to create new opportunities for responsible travellers.

Gunjur is one of the most environmentally conscious communities in The Gambia, working hand in hand to sensitize members of the community about the importance of environmental protection as well as working on various projects such as ecotourism promotion, sea-turtles protection, birdwatching tours, forest conservation and so much more.

The event was a perfect chance to connect and network and create new interesting products for travellers. You will soon be able to read about them, so subscribe to our monthly free online magazine to learn more about sustainable travel opportunities.

Interested in volunteering experience in environmental protection in Gunjur, combined with a homestay?
