This is the recommended fishing trip! This trip can be a combination of fishing in the mouth and/or river as well as bottom fishing and/or trolling, depending on the weather and river conditions of the day.
In the mouth and main channel are many streams, steep drops, rocks, and sandbanks where the bigger fish try to hide. If you don't find fish here, you will go on trolling for Barracuda. You'll also find fish at the wrecks in the creeks. Expect Barracuda, Captain Fish, Ladyfish, Cassava, Red Snapper and Grouper.
The price for this trip is € 325 for 1-3 persons. For each additional person, the charges are € 25 per head. Charges include bait, fishing material, and mineral water.
Optional: lunch packages & transport
The Gambia River has many wrecks, which are great fishing spots. Before you reach the river, you will take a breathtaking slalom trip through the creeks, as there are no big waves here. You can expect to find Red Snapper, Cassava, Butterfish, Tilapia, and Ladyfish.

Visiting this historical site of the West African slave trade, also known as James Island, is a must when in The Gambia. On this trip, you will cruise from Denton Bridge through the mangroves with lots of birds, and you can see the ladies picking oysters. At the end of the mangroves, you will enter the main River Gambia, where you can see the capital, Banjul, and the main port. In around one hour, you will reach the village where the museum is situated. After visiting the museum, we cross the river to the Island (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Here, a local tour guide will show you around and explain more about the ruins of Fort James.
On the way to Kunta Kinteh Island or back (depending on the tides), you will most likely see dolphins, so keep an eye out for them! They are playful and will probably come near the boat; you can almost touch them. Keep your cameras ready!
The price for this trip is €400 for 1-4 persons. For each additional person, the charges are € 25 per head. Charges include mineral water and entrance tickets for the museum & island. However, tips for the local tour guide will be extra.
