My Magazine 2022/06
2 min
Yoga is an art and science of healthy living. The word 'Yoga' is derived from the Sanskrit root 'Yuj', meaning 'to join' or 'to yoke' or 'to unite'.

The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on 21 June since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014.

'Yoga for Humanity' is chosen theme for International Yoga Day 2022. The theme is focusing on the numerous benefits of yoga. Recognizing the importance of yoga, this year's yoga day theme focuses on how yoga helps to cure Covid-19 and how it will help the achieving holistic health of every individual.

The event is hosted by Indian Social and Cultural Association, The Gambia in association with The Embassy of India, Dakar and The Office of The Honorary Consul General of India. We welcome everyone to come and participate.

Venue: American International University, The Gambia
Time: 9:30 a.m
Date: 18th June, Saturday
