Ngala Lodge is an adults-only luxury boutique hotel with a gourmet restaurant that offers unparalleled comfort and quality. It started with just a few rooms in 1995 and has since blossomed into a blissful retreat boasting 24 luxurious suites and full-service hospitality, tucked away amidst magnificent landscaped gardens and palm trees overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

As you enter the gates of Ngala Lodge, you are overwhelmed by the vibrant flora, which will immediately entice you to explore. The pathways winding through the lush and beautifully-maintained gardens lead to the suites, the restaurant, the pool and the private beach deck.

The Suites

You can choose from five kinds of suites at Ngala Lodge - Lodge Suites, Manor Building, Atlantic Suites, Macondo Suites, and Femmy Suite. Each suite is designed to offer the ultimate experience in comfort and luxury with unique features.

The ten Lodge Suites are perfect for a cosy and comfortable stay without straining your budget. The Manor Building offers three spacious suites for those who appreciate classic design and vintage charm. The four Atlantic Suites are ideal for those who want to soak in a jacuzzi on the private terrace while enjoying the beautiful sea or garden view.

The six Macondo Suites overlook the Infinity Pool, with the ocean in the background. Perfect for those who want to wake up to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. The three ground-floor suites also have private plunge pools.

The Femmy Suite is perfect for those looking for a luxurious experience. It has a private pool and deck for complete privacy and relaxation.

All the suites are spacious and bright, with tall glass doors that open to the gardens or the sea. They are decorated with African heritage blended with contemporary style. Each room has a private balcony or terrace where you can relax and enjoy the cool sea breeze, soak in the sun or sip a glass of chilled champagne with your loved one.

The suites are adorned with beautiful paintings and Gambian artefacts that showcase the beauty and rich culture of the local people. They have comfortable alcove seats, canopied beds, plush sofas, stone figurines and pure wooden furniture handmade in The Gambia that add to the room's unique charm. The dressing rooms and separate living rooms provide everything you need to spend your holiday in comfort and style.

The views from each balcony or terrace are breathtakingly beautiful, with overhead skies and the crystal-clear Atlantic Ocean stretching as far as the eye can see. Lush greenery and exotic trees surround the property creating a haven-like ambience.

Birdlife

The beautiful gardens surrounding Ngala Lodge attract a wide variety of birds, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. These gardens offer an experience like no other with rustic iron handmade light fixtures, handmade wooden benches, life-sized sculptures by talented local artists and more. As the sun sets, the garden takes on a new identity with shimmering lights and the fragrance of flowers.

Two Pools and The Ocean

Ngala Lodge has two pools for its guests. The Lodge Pool is private and ideal for those who want to unwind in a secluded atmosphere. The Infinity Pool is sea-facing and amid the beautiful gardens, perfect for relaxing while listening to waves gently lapping against the shore down below.

The Complex has a private beach deck with wooden stairs leading down to the beach from the end of the gardens. The Ngala Beach Deck is an exclusive area reserved only for in-house guests and offers sun beds with parasols and cabanas for a more private lounging experience on the beach.

The Restaurant and Bar

The Ngala Restaurant is renowned for its gourmet cuisine that utilizes only the freshest and best ingredients from local sources. The restaurant, which mixes influences from Europe and Africa, is located on the edge of a cliff, allowing you to enjoy delicious meals and refreshing drinks while enjoying stunning views and the cool fresh sea breeze.

The restaurant offers a continental buffet breakfast served daily from 7:30am to 10:30am. Guests can choose A La Carte lunch and dinner with daily specials served from 12pm to 3:30pm and from 7pm to 10:30pm, respectively, with the last dinner order at 10:30pm.

Their Bar has a wide range of liquors, cocktails, mocktails, hot beverages, beers, soft drinks, and bottled water. They recently introduced a Bites menu featuring Continental cuisine from 3:30pm to 7pm. During these hours, the lunch and dinner menus will not be available.

The restaurant and bar feature pure wooden furniture made by local craftsmen in The Gambia.

Green Initiative

Ngala Lodge has introduced filtered water in glass bottles as part of their Green Initiatives to go plastic-free and save the environment. All rooms are provided with these bottles; refills are possible upon request. However, they also stock up on regular plastic bottled water if that's your preference.
