Koriteh, also known as Eid ul Fitr, is one of the most important celebrations in the Islamic calendar. It marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting, and is celebrated by Muslims all over the world. In The Gambia, Eid ul Fitr is a time of great joy and festivity.

The festivities in The Gambia begin early in the morning, with Muslims gathering at the local mosque for special prayers. Men, women, and children dress up in their finest clothes. After the prayers, families gather to share a meal together. This is a time for forgiveness and reconciliation, and people often visit their neighbors, friends, and family members to exchange gifts and greetings. Children, in particular, look forward to Eid ul Fitr as they receive money and gifts from their elders.

Eid ul Fitr is a time for unity and togetherness, and it is a reflection of the strong community spirit that exists in The Gambia. Visitors to the country during this time can expect a warm welcome and a chance to experience the unique culture and traditions of The Gambia.
