Under the supervision of Dr. Bart Goossens and Dr Busayo Ajiboye, and our Veterinary nurses Sheila and Maimuna, you will learn theory and practical techniques to assist them in their daily tasks. This includes examining animals, diagnosing illnesses and determining the best treatments, wound dressing and treatment, vaccinations and surgeries. It will also include helping in taking care of hospitalized animals by providing intensive care, feeding and cleaning cages. You will learn on how best to advise pet owners on nutrition, preventive health care and general care.
KVS is equipped with two consultation rooms, a surgery room, digital X-ray and ultra-sound machines and offers blood and faecal examination, dental care and grooming services. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to learn about these services and gain hands-on experience in providing them.
The working hours are from Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm, and Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm. During this time, you will work with a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about providing the best possible care for animals in the region.
