Kololi Beach Resort opened its doors to the first visitors 30 years ago when the founder spotted a perfect location right at the ocean and close to a serene natural environment. Since day one, the aim is to tend their guests' needs with friendly hospitality and offer them spacious holiday accommodation, where they could have everything they would desire at their fingertips.

The perfect location is one of the best allurement of this seaside resort. A broad private beach with sunbeds and sunshades allows guests to enjoy and soak in the sun while enjoying the sound of the sea and a gentle breeze coming from the ocean. The vast open ground with exuberant greenery allows residents to have a feel of freedom and privacy. Park provides a home to many colourful birds, enabling bird-lovers birdwatching experience from their private balcony or terrace. One can easily spot a monkey coming from the Bijilo Nature Park, enjoying the lush ground of the resort's lawn.

On the other hand, Kololi Beach Resort is just at the heart of the liveliest tourist area. One minute walk to the Senegambia strip offers unlimited choices for dining and evening outings on both sides of the street. The convenience of proximity to shops, bakeries, souvenir shops, exchange bureaus, and the main road adds to the stress reduction while enjoying the holiday in your favourite destination.

Stone's Boutique Studios & Apartments are the newest addition to the resort's wide offer of accommodation types. Joining Nian Villas, Kololi Villas and Appartments, Springs Apartments and Penthouse, Stones offer a comfortable and cosy stay with private outdoor sitting facing Senegambia road or the resort's garden.

Studios and apartments offer either double or twin bed, sofa, wardrobe and desk, en-suite shower room and ceiling fan with air-conditioning to keep your day cool. The kitchenette has everything you need to prepare yourself a breakfast or a simple meal. But if you don't like cooking while on holiday, you are welcome to visit a resort restaurant where breakfast, lunch or dinner is served.

Stones are the perfect choice for couples, friends or solo travellers who want to indulge in relaxing at the private beach or by the pool but also enjoy the nightlife of the liveliest patch in The Gambia. You can choose between a Standard Studio, Superior Studio or a Stones one-bedroom apartment.

During your stay, you can use different facilities the resort has to offer. You can choose to dive into the main pool next to the Salt – Bar & Kitchen, where you can enjoy your meal and access the sea within a few steps. From October 2022, you can also use the new Stones Pool. If you don't feel like moving too far from your studio or apartment, you can chill out and enjoy your drink in a nearby bar, which is also close to the pool. You can enrich your day by engaging in one of the many activities like snooker, darts, beach football or volleyball, bowls, croquet, table tennis, water polo or giant chess. With friendly resort staff, you will have no problem organizing your day outside the accommodation area. They are very keen on sharing their knowledge about the Gambia with you, and they cooperate with reliable tour companies to offer you some of the best day trips around the country.

The long tradition of the resort speaks for itself. High-level service, friendliness of the staff and passion of the management to keep the good name of the resort are a few additional reasons why a comfortable stay in Kololi Beach Resort is ensured.

Founder, Just Act Gambia
Jane first travelled to Janjanbureh, The Gambia, in February 2004 for just one week through an educational link. That was enough to capture her heart, and she decided to try and support the community in some small way. On subsequent visits, staying with Tida Manka, the then retired Head Teacher of the Methodist Lower Basic School, she met her brother, the late Foday Jibani Manka (later to become the National Assembly Member). Foday had immense historical and cultural knowledge of the island, and Jane felt this knowledge should be shared. Seeing some tourists coming to the island with guides from the coast, not always with accurate knowledge to convey, Jane suggested that some local young people should be trained to become local tour guides and that a local skills centre which she had supported from the onset should be used to provide training in providing goods and services for tourists. Thus began her main aim of training Official Local Tour Guides recognised by the Gambia Tourism Board. She decided that setting up a charitable status would be advisable. It was to be a long task and finally achieved but since 2017 has been superseded by a much greater initiative through YEP Gambia, which is chronicled elsewhere on this site. Just Act Gambia became a recognised charity in early 2010. Just Act Gambia has developed through collaboration with the local community and various initiatives in response to local needs.
