Kerewan Samba Sira now has 100 street lights donated through the Volunteer Trails project of lightning up the village, which provide better security and enable better conditions for the local economy by extending working hours after nightfall. In the next phase of the project, we will install additional 150 lights that will light up the remaining streets and provide an even safer environment, especially for kids. You can be part of the next phase of installation by helping with the physical installation of lights and celebratory preparations and feel how important that project is for the whole community.
Volunteering opportunities in the village are vast. The village has a nursery and primary school where additional teacher assistance would be greatly appreciated. The exchange of teaching practices is one of the key aspects of international volunteers joining the program, as children tend to grasp knowledge faster using teaching aids and learning through games and logical thinking. And judging from past experiences, the connection that is established between volunteers, teachers, and students becomes an unbreakable bond that will be remembered forever.
The village also has a football academy where young boys and girls have the possibility to train. The vision of its founder is to train footballers who can represent the country. Kids who are part of the academy not only live a healthier life, as we all know, physical recreation brings many benefits, but also socialize, gain their confidence and objectify to the limits that would otherwise obstruct the dreams of many. To become a professional footballer.
The village also has a mini multipurpose youth skill centre, where anybody with specific skills such as sewing, knitting, soap making, or any other is welcome to come and share their knowledge with the young generations.
