The chief guest for the evening was His Excellency Dr. Mamadou Tangara, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Corporations and Gambians Abroad. The restaurant was abuzz with excitement as VIPs, including Mr Lamin Manneh(Senior Advisor to the Governor), the Ambassadors of Germany and Turkey, the Counsellor of Malta, representatives from international organizations, government officials, members of UN Agencies, and selected members of the business community were invited to experience a taste of Thai cuisine.

A delectable spread of Thai dishes was prepared by the two new Thai Chefs in town. The guests were treated to an authentic Thai culinary experience, showcasing the rich diversity of Thai cuisine. Every dish, with its aromatic flavours, was a masterpiece that delighted the palate.

The evening commenced with opening remarks by Muna Jallow, Public Relations Manager. The General Manager, Mr Terry Langenhoven, followed with warm welcome remarks and history of the magnificent Coco Ocean Resort & Spa, expressing his delight in bringing Thai cuisine back and promising an exceptional evening.

In his appreciation remarks, Mr Farid Bensouda, the much-loved proprietor of Coco Ocean, expressed gratitude to all the guests for their presence and commended his team for their hard work in making Coco Ocean what it is today.

The pinnacle of the evening was the official opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony, carried out jointly by HE Dr Mamadou Tangara and Mr Farid Bensouda.
