We were invited to visit Reforest The Future Project, which took our breath away with its simplicity yet charming outlay in the middle of nature. The project purposed to revive the forests of The Gambia, allows volunteering experiences and provides accommodation for anyone who would like to detach from the bustling world and find their hideout in nature, go back to the simple life.
Njau Village is also famous for its Women Initiative project by the amazing Isatou Ceesay, a lady who joined two shortcomings and did a successful project out of it. She empowered women by teaching them skills and giving them a way to earn additional income and, at the same time, found a solution for all thrown-away plastic, which is now being recycled into wonderful handmade products.
