Ocean Villa Heights, a small hotel with a big personality

A boutique hotel with a stunning stairway to the sea is the hidden jewel of Brufut Heights. It is a place where a warm welcome meets the cool Atlantic Breeze.

The splendid flowering garden hosting many colourful birds of The Gambia will embrace you as you stroll along a blue stoned path to the sea.

A small bantaba with its panoramic ocean views is a place where you can read a book, have a relaxing massage or just chill out at any time of the day or night.

Within a few steps, you can choose to enjoy chilling in the garden, strolling on the beach, relaxing by the pool listening to the birdsong or playing pool on a full-size table.

The hotel offers 14 rooms in total, there are six in the main building each unique and designed for a different style of traveller including three impressive ocean-view suites, there are six modern design rooms in The Courtyard complex offering modern comfort and style at affordable prices.

The latest addition is 2 eco rooms designed with backpacker in mind.

Because of the petiteness of the hotel it is always possible for a group of friends or larger extended families to book the entire hotel and enjoy the villa as a private holiday resort.

The pool terrace is at the very heart of the hotel, this big open area offers enough space for a barbeque party, lunch under one of the shaded sitting areas or just a lazy sunbath on one of the comfortable sunbeds.

With the bar open 24/7 you can enjoy a cool drink no matter what time of day or vibe that you feel. And you can try your luck at the pool table in the main restaurant area if you feel a competitive streak coming on.

The pool is open to non-residents so if you want to invite friends to come enjoy your holiday place you can easily do so. It is also a popular spot for lunch and swimming where you can enjoy all that the hotel has to offer for the day.

The hotel has its own strong personality, at the entrance, you will be amazed by the majestic building and even more so as you enter the vast marbled atrium with its magnificent symmetrical movie like staircase.

With its classic design with the emphasis on light and space, the main hotel offers an elegance that can only add to its uniqueness.

Add to this the direct access to the beach through the garden, descending from the clifftop via a winding staircase leading through a lush green forest to the sandy shore. Sound magical it is.

The sandy beach is never too crowded but still lively enough to ensure that you will find a friendly bar to enjoy a drink or watch the waves from a sunbed. Its location away from the main concentration of tourists ensures that you can laze away the day without fear of hassling even as a lone traveller.

The management of the hotel can be described as a bundle of flexibility and warmth, while all the hotel's staff are a small lovable family, if you are not bowled over Ocean Villa Heights team, you will be bowled over by the four-legged member Teddy, a legend in his own right will surely win your heart.

The is almost no way that you can feel anything but great hospitality at this hotel, if you want to organise a picnic party, trip, romantic dinner for two in the Bantaba, pool day or any other special request, Ocean Villa Heights can make it happen.

Although around 15 minutes’ walk from the main highways, you do not need to worry about food, a complimentary buffet-style Continental breakfast is offered to guests each day.

If you prefer to relax at the hotel, the restaurant offers a selection of classic International dishes including fresh seafood and African specials.

If you feel the need to explore or to check out your favourite restaurant, Ocean Villa Heights has its own Tuk-Tuk in its own livery to drop you at your local destination in a unique style.

At Ocean Villa Heights you will be welcomed with open arms whether travelling with a group, family or just by yourself, looking for a place with serenity nestled in lush gardens and the ocean just footsteps away, you may just have found your special place.
