58 Joe Ride vehicles donated to 58 Imams

We at Joe Ride Global Gambia Ltd (JRGG) would like to thank the team at Ummah Welfare Trust UK (UWT) and West Africa Relief and Development Association (WARDA) in particular Muhammed Taaha, Ebrahim Ceesay and Ibrahima Ceesay.

On the 27th November 2021 UWT and WARDA invited us to their ceremony distributing 58 Joe Ride vehicles to 58 Imams (religious community leaders) across The Gambia.  The 'New Livelihoods for Imams 2021' scheme is the first income-generating project that UWT and WARDA have delivered in The Gambia. The Imams who will be owning the Joe Rides are currently earning on average £30 per month (£1 per day). We hope it will be a real impactful project and will give these Imams an extra stream of income so they can go about their community work that they carry out daily and selflessly.

WARDA purchased the 58 vehicles from JRGG this month and we are delighted to be partners of this scheme, which will entail us managing all 58 vehicles on behalf of the beneficiaries.

A special thank you goes to our engineering team at JRGG who worked tirelessly to assemble the Joe Ride vehicles in a limited time frame.
