NEWS
June 2025 has been one of those months that makes you pause, reflect, and feel deeply grateful. Not just for the milestones we’ve reached, but for the long, winding road that brought us here.

We reached 10,000 subscribers on our YouTube channel, and we celebrated 100,000 followers on our Facebook page. Numbers, yes—but behind them are stories, sweat, learning curves, and an unwavering belief in the beauty of The Gambia.

10,000 YouTube Subscribers & 800+ Stories Shared

Earlier last month, we proudly crossed 10,000 subscribers on our YouTube channel. Since our very first upload in April 2019, we’ve published over 800 videos, capturing the heart, culture, and everyday beauty of The Gambia. From village life and traditional crafts to festivals, interviews, and hidden gems—you’ve been with us every step of the way. Thank you for watching, commenting, and believing in our mission to tell real Gambian stories, honestly and beautifully.

100,000 Facebook Followers

On June 30, 2025, we hit another major milestone: 100,000 followers on Facebook! What began as a small platform to share local stories has grown into a vibrant community of people who care about The Gambia—locals, travellers, dreamers, and doers. Every like, share, and message has helped us grow, connect, and inspire.

These milestones aren’t just numbers—they represent a growing movement to celebrate, protect, and share the cultural richness of The Gambia with the world.

From a Dream to a Movement

It all began with one person and a strong vision—to make information about The Gambia accessible to everyone. To show that this country is a jewel, full of untold stories, living culture, and kind-hearted people. A few months in, another person joined. Then came Awa, and later Buba—who are both still with us today.

We started with two unprofessional cameras, no formal media training, and a lot of passion. We didn’t know then that we were planting the seeds for something bigger. Something that would grow into a platform recognized and trusted by thousands—both in The Gambia and around the world.

When we look back now, it’s emotional. The team is bigger. The tools are better. But the mission remains the same: to promote The Gambia in its truest light, to honour its people, and to uplift its voice.

Every Step, Every Person, Every Lesson

We are proud of how far we’ve come—and we’re proud of every single individual who has been part of this journey. The good and the bad. Those who stayed and those who didn’t. Every person shaped us, taught us, challenged us, and helped us grow.

We've made tough decisions—some that worked, some that didn’t—but each one led us closer to the vision we still hold: to make Destination Gambia known, loved, and respected across the world. And to do it with the same wide, welcoming smile that the people of this country offer to every guest.

Thank You for Being With Us

To our viewers, followers, supporters, partners, and friends—thank you. These milestones belong to all of us. And if you’re just discovering us now, welcome. There’s so much more to explore together.
