The Cotton Project at Kerewan Samba Sira is a visionary initiative aimed at reviving The Gambia's cotton industry and creating a unique, community-based tourism experience. In collaboration with the village of Kerewan Samba Sira, this project seeks to bring back the thriving cotton industry of the 1970s and 1980s, which once supported over 3,000 local farmers. Beyond cotton farming, the project will create opportunities for spinners, weavers, dyers, and tailors, while offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the entire production process; from seed to finished product.
