According to information released by aviation and travel stakeholders, the first flight on this route is scheduled to operate on 15 February, providing an additional travel option for passengers travelling between the UK and The Gambia. The service is expected to cater to leisure travellers, the Gambian diaspora, and business passengers, while contributing to improved access to the destination.
Ground handling and operational services in The Gambia will be provided by NIRO, ensuring local operational support for the new route at Banjul International Airport.
The introduction of this weekly connection represents a positive development for The Gambia’s aviation and tourism sectors, strengthening air links with one of its key source markets. Improved connectivity is expected to support tourism growth, facilitate travel planning, and enhance mobility between the two countries.
Further details regarding flight schedules, ticket sales, and operational arrangements are expected to be announced by the airline and its partners in due course.
