Ministry of Tourism and Culture The Gambia has announced that Mrs. Ida Jeng Njie has been appointed, by promotion, as the new Director General of The Gambia Tourism Board, effective 2nd January 2026.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Mrs. Ida Jeng Njie on her appointment.

We pray and hope that her wealth of experience, dedication, and deep understanding of our tourism landscape will drive continued tourism development and further strengthen The Gambia as a leading destination.

We wish her every success in her new role and look forward to positive growth, innovation, and meaningful collaboration within the tourism sector under her guidance.

We also take this opportunity to congratulate Mr. Abubacarr S. Camara on his appointment as Deputy Head of Mission to The Gambian Embassy in Qatar.
