Next, visit the sacred Bakau Crocodile Pool (Kachikally), home to over 100 Nile crocodiles, and discover the spiritual and cultural significance of this historic site. After an exciting morning of wildlife encounters, unwind at Paradise Beach in Kotu, a serene coastal retreat. Enjoy a refreshing fresh juice at a beachfront café, feel the warm ocean breeze, and dip your feet in the Atlantic before heading back.

Monkey Park

Take a selfie with monkeys

Walk through this coastal nature reserve known for its population of green vervet monkeys and red colobus monkeys. Observe a variety of bird species and enjoy the tranquil forest paths. Learn about the park’s flora, including the impressive baobab trees.

Bakau Crocodile Pool (Kachikally)

Stroke a crocodile and take a picture

Discover the sacred crocodile pool, home to over 100 Nile crocodiles. Learn about the spiritual significance of the site to local communities. Finally, visit the small museum showcasing Gambian history and culture and see the biggest silk cotton tree.

Paradise Beach, Kotu

Relaxation Stop at Paradise Beach, Kotu

Unwind at Paradise Beach, is a scenic spot known for its golden sands and laid-back vibes.

Enjoy a refreshing soft drink or fresh juice at a beachfront café.

Prices are in GMD (Gambian Dalasi) per person. Please note the minimum number of travellers for the tour. Your departure is 100% guaranteed once the minimum number of travellers book the tour. The trip is organised by the Insitute of Travel and Tourism of The Gambia (ITTOG) in collaboration with Ninki Nanka Encounters (NNE).

ITTOG specialises in hands-on training mainly in the Travel and Tourism sectors with special emphasis on travel agency, tour operations, tour guiding, ground operations, events management, entrepreneurship/business skills development, responsible/sustainable tourism, community-based tourism, and general tourism business management.

NNE Foundation is a small, new Gambian charity and UK community interest company (CIC) working towards the responsible development of the Ninki Nanka Trail as a community-based tourist destination.

They work on projects with communities, tourism businesses and local government to develop experiences, products and community-based tourism designed to create inspiring, cultural interaction between travellers and local people and use tourism to create livelihood opportunities for host communities along The River Gambia.
