ABOUT Weaving Workshop

Ebrima Sorrie is one of the craftsmen My Gambia Team met while searching for products made in The Gambia. His story touched our hearts, and we decided to support his work by highlighting his talent and products. You can now attend a workshop with Sorrie to learn a new skill, appreciate hand-made work and leave with a beautiful souvenir.

Start of activity

Sorrie Camara will meet you at the location agreed upon (it can be a place of your stay, at the beach or another location).

Transport to the agreed location can be arranged for an additional price.

What to expect

From the weaving Workshop

Ebrima Sorrie will introduce the process of weaving different types and designs of products made from dried rhun palm leaves. He will share with you how he learned to weave, how he gets the products and the whole process of making them. OFFERED BY

My Gambia with Ebrima Sorrie Camara

One way to connect to people is through experiencing their art and craft. We at My Gambia always love to explore new avenues, meet different people, find out what's their art/craft and the story behind it; and there is always an amazing story to tell, some beautiful art to promote, wherever we go and whoever we meet. That's why we created the section workshop on My Gambia's platform – to connect travellers to some unpopular beautiful art of the smiling coast of Africa. In our quest to promote made in Gambia products, we met Ebrima Sorrie Camara whose story inspired us, and we decided to support him by featuring his craft and products.
