We will pick you up at the place of your stay.
Your adventure begins at Serekunda - approximately 15 minutes drive from the main tourist areas.
Your day starts in Serrekunda, in the workshop where you will witness and learn about the steps in the process of making your bangle. You will be able to participate and try out the skills of silver smithery yourself while tasting delicious attaya. The process takes about three hours. You will walk home with a beautiful hand-made silver souvenir, which you helped to make. If you wish, you can conclude your workshop at the Senegambia Craft Market, where you will be able to check out other hand-made silver jewellery and visit colourful shops with various hand-made products.
We will drop you off at the place of your stay.
Slight adjustments are possible.
For workshop to be effective, the maximum number of the people should be 2. If you are interested to attend the workshop with your friends or family, send us an inquiry and we will send you and offer.
Mamat and Njaga are members of an extended family of gold and silversmiths. They learnt the craft from their grandfather, who was a silver and goldsmith. They started when they were still at school, and after completing high school, they ventured into the business and opened their shop. It is almost 30 years now since they started as silversmiths.
We do believe it's time for another adventure. Don't spend all of your time in The Gambia in one place. Go out and explore! There are so many beautiful experiences waiting for you. Let us help you pick one - and take care of all the rest.
