A creative oasis in Tujering, Tunbung Art Village was founded by the late Baboucarr Etu Ndow, a pivotal figure in Gambian art. The village focuses on art education and recycling, using local materials to foster creativity. Visitors can engage in workshops on tie-dye, batik, and painting, or stay in artistically designed rooms that reflect traditional techniques. Tunbung stands as a testament to Etu's legacy and a vibrant centre for emerging artists.
Galloya village, near the Gambian airport, gained international attention through the Wide Open Walls project. This initiative invited renowned muralists to transform the village's walls into a canvas of vibrant graffiti and street art. Artists such as ROA and Eelus have left their mark here, creating a colourful open-air gallery that draws visitors and inspires local talent.
Situated in Alhagie Kebba Conteh Plaza, Kanifing, The Key Art Gallery is a contemporary space dedicated to promoting local and international artists. The gallery features diverse exhibitions ranging from paintings to sculptures and provides workshops to help artists develop their skills and market their work. Founded by Abdoullah Conteh, the gallery plays a crucial role in shaping The Gambia's art market and educational system.
Alliance Française is more than a language school; it's a vibrant cultural hub supporting Gambian artists. The venue hosts exhibitions, performances, and film screenings, showcasing quality works from both established and emerging artists. It’s an ideal place to experience the depth of Gambian art and discover new talent.
In Kartong village, close to the Casamance border, Lemonfish Art Gallery offers a cozy yet eclectic space for art lovers. Curated by Nina Effinger and Hannah Stokbroekx, the gallery features a rich collection of Gambian and international artworks. Highlights include pieces by renowned artists such as Moulaye Sarr and Abdoulai Sallah, set in a charming environment that invites visitors to linger and appreciate.
The Katchikally Crocodile Pool, a famous cultural and mythological site, also serves as a creative haven for artists. Edrisa Jobe, known for his symbolic and numerological paintings, and other local artists use the park as their studio, creating art inspired by the area's mystical ambience. Visitors can witness art being made in this unique setting and purchase works directly from the creators.

These markets offer a variety of artworks, from traditional paintings and carvings to modern craft items. They provide an excellent opportunity to support local artists and find unique souvenirs that capture the essence of Gambian art.
The National Centre for Arts and Culture (NCAC) in Banjul is a key institution in promoting and preserving Gambian art and culture. NCAC offers exhibitions, workshops, and performances that highlight the rich artistic heritage of The Gambia.
