Wolof/Mandinka Dictionary: Conjunction and Preposition

Inside, outside, under, on… With this month’s dictionary you will learn to use some of the basic prepositions.

Prepositions

In Wolof, prepositions are made from nouns. They are all put together ci’. It can mean on, at, in or by.

Put it inside.
The cat is under the able.
In Mandinka there are no specified words for preposition. You can only figure the preposition out after the sentence is formed. They are formed from a noun.
