Fajara Craft Market

My Magazine 2022/11
2 min
Fajara Craft Market was established in the 90s, after Kotu Craft Market. It is one of the best craft markets in the country, whether because of the neatness, friendliness of vendors or quality products. Every shop is well organized, and products are well arranged.

You can find radiant African textiles when you shop at Fajara Craft Market or buy unique sewn fabrics in different styles. They sell a wide range of materials.

Whether you are looking for an animal statue carved wood, an African woman statue, or you want some wooden home accessories, they have it all. You can also buy nicely carved chess games if you are a chess lover or a wurray box to take home and share your playing skills with friends.

A house is not a home without paintings; having quality paintings in your place gives a homely feeling. Gift yourself with some lovely African lifestyle portrayals created with different painting techniques.

Of course, you will not walk into a craft market in the Gambia without finding the local musical instruments, and the Fajara craft market is no exception. If you want to get your little drum, kora or balafon, which is portable to travel with, they are on display in the Fajara craft market.

Shopping at Fajara craft market can be a day experience where you can indulge yourself on the beach, enjoy a fresh cold drink at one of the beach bars and swim in the ocean.
