MARKETING/SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

My Gambia is looking for an experienced, organized, detail-oriented team player with good writing and verbal skills and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

A positive attitude and professional demeanour are essential, along with the flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment. An individual will work closely with the sales team to ensure the effective placement of sales activity.

Specifically, the Marketing Manager will work with the sales force on processing advertising contracts, obtaining creative materials, generating support materials for the sales team, and coordinating the scheduling and launch of advertising campaigns.

This is a great opportunity in a growing organization for someone who is able to maintain a high level of accuracy and remain calm under pressure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of sales proposals, advertising packages and client presentations.
  • Create supportive marketing materials for the sales department.
  • Social Media management 
  • Branding 
  • Effectively communicate with internal teams (sales manager, production, web designer) and external clients on the performance and delivery of campaigns.
  • Keep progress tabs on various sales initiatives.
  • Work cooperatively with managers, co-workers and clients to deliver a high level of service.
  • Interact with co-workers, clients and the viewing public in a professional manner, both on the phone and in person.
  • Create supportive marketing materials for digital marketing.
  • Customer's data collection and regular updating.

Experience Requirements:

  • Must have computer and software experience, including MS Office and Excel.
  • Must have experience with internet browsing and information searching.

  • Previous office and/or sales support experience preferred.
  • Previous commercial magazine experience is a plus. 
  • Must have experience in uploading data and info on website

Specifically, the Magazine Editor/Marketing Writer will be responsible for creating and collecting content for an online magazine, inserting the content, quality control and on-time publishing. An individual will also work with the sales force on processing advertising content, obtaining creative materials, generating support materials for the sales team, and coordinating the scheduling and launch of advertising campaigns.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set the monthly plan for online magazine content in collaboration with the sales and marketing team.
  • Set up the shooting timetable, and coordinate and distribute tasks within the media team.
  • Follow up on the progress of tasks to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Create marketing-oriented and original texts.
  • Proofread, detect and correct errors in submitted texts.
  • Ensure on-time collection of materials and insert them on the website.
  • Create supportive marketing materials for digital marketing.
  • Assist in the development of sales proposals, advertising packages and client presentations.
  • Create materials for social media content in accordance with the magazine content and partners' agreements. 
  • Effectively communicate with internal teams (sales manager, marketing, media production, web designer) and external clients on the performance and delivery of campaigns.
